Speed Network

Network types and speeds:

A computer network allows group of computers to connect and communicate with one another. It helps to share resources and devices like printers and scanners. There are several network types and they are typically categorized by the systems that are under the networked area.  Local Area Network and Wide Area Network are most common types of networks.

Local Area Network (LAN):

LAN connects network devices within a short distance, for instance, within a school or office building. The computer systems are linked with cables under this type of network. The connected devices share the resources of a single processor or server here. Generally, the server has applications and data storage that are shared by multiple users.

The speed of the Local Area Network is usually 100Mbps. It can go anywhere from five computers to several hundreds. However, if more computers are connected to a single LAN, it would slow down the connection. LAN utilizes several technologies like Ethernet, Token Ring and FDDI (Fiber Distributed Data Interface).

* Ethernet is the most commonly used LAN technology. Ethernet LAN uses Coaxial Cable or special grades of twisted pair wires. The widely used Ethernet system 10BASE-T provides speed of transmission up to 10 Mbps. Fast Ethernet offers transmission speeds up to 100 Mbps. Gigabit Ethernet offers higher level of transmission speed (1000 Mbps)

* Token Ring is a network that connects computer in either ring or star topology. It utilizes a unique scheme to prevent data collision between two computers called token passing scheme. It provides transmission speeds of 4 to 16 Mbps.

* FDDI is used to transmit data via fiber optic lines. It can be extended up to 200 Kilometers. As it can connect computers in a large area, it can support thousands of users. It employs two token rings and the main ring offers up to 100 Mbps capacity. The secondary ring can carry data and extend the transmission capacity t0 200Mbps.
Wireless LAN is used to connect a user to a local area network via wireless connection. It provides connection to the internet through an access point. There are three types of wireless Local Area Network- Peer to peer, bridge and Wireless distribution system.

1. Peer to Peer network lets the wireless devices communicate directly with each other.

2. Bridge is used to connect different types of networks.

3. Wireless distribution system allows the wireless interconnection of access points, which can be main, relay or remote base station.

Wide Area Network:

WAN is a computer network that covers a broad area. Internet is the largest WAN that spans the Earth. It requires high speed connection usually fiber optics. A T$ connection can provide a speed ranging from 1 to 4 Mbps. It can connect LANs and other types of networks, so that the users and computers in one area can communicate with the users and computers in another area.

More Information on Speed Network

Is it true that laptops develop old age, the more regularly they are used the slower performing they are, it follows that if they are not cared for correctly they invariably degrade.  You see this about a Windows PC, and the more regular you operate it the slower, and slower it gets.   Probably it’s not old age probably it’s a conspiracy theory that obliges a person to feed money in the most modern, speedier pc’s.

It is additionally possible that when you operate the pc, you possibly place more strenuous load on the equipment with the different utilities, more likely more executing behind the scenes, more resource hungry animated desktops and blinking icons, user customized cursors, RSS programs, atmospheric programs, customizable clocks, and even utilities that are kind enough to check for the most recent fixes and updates for windows, office, antivirus, spyware protection, and so this goes on, it is no surprise its getting slow.  Well, this is how things happen differently.  The advice, tips and tricks which will give the knowledge and aid to increase the performance of the laptop and pc up.  All this simultaneously with the most modern pertinent news and reviews from the laptop and pc world.
